The Liberals won,

Canada woke up sane in an increasingly insane world.

Our nation will not bow down.

Never will we be the 51^st anything.

Our country was built on principles.

The most important being freedom of health.

Here in Canada, we take care of our own,

That includes those who have no homes.

(or at least we try…)

No matter how much you have,

Here you stand a fighting chance.

(Although that chance is slim.)

Perfect we will never be

For who among us can claim to be so?

What we will always be is better.

Better tomorrow than we were today.

For that I am so proud to be Canadian.
