Can i call you tonight

we are estrange,

acquainted in unison of sense,

the world is but a lonely cage,

contributes not much to you and me,

have not but one another to perceive,

i ponder in depth,

of how in the face of void as null as death,

i fell.

we assumed us none much than ash to the other,

maintained concealment,

deceitful means,

o! but the phoenix arose from ashes,

affection gives way,

as we deceive oblivious,

till it led to rage,

i scream.

did we halt to wonder,

what life would rival without the other,

now the moment did appear,

for i did,

and god forbid,

when we do,

i shall bid adieu,

to the rest of the earth,

the confinement we name our hearth,

i wreak havoc.

we have always remained forlorn,

other fellows ours to scorn,

till we merged in soul,

now i foretell we must part,

peers do attempt to console,

but who can replace

half of one's heart?

we grow apart,

tis but stifling,

i repent i fancied it absurd,

for souls to bid farewell,

i wail.

much to tell,

but words none fell,

minds fail to grasp coherent apologies

o! how pleasant it was,

to have found solace in quiescence,

i cry and repent,

of bitter lies spewed,

but not meant,

i desire for other memoirs,

cry in desperation,

for one last moment spent in presence of 'other,

so i vow,

tis the last time,

"so can i call you tonight?"
