Call It Love

I see you from across the bridge,

Mist around us,

And opposite roads between us.

Our destination awaits,

Our journey just at its inception.

I am asking questions,

And you are seeking answers.

You have to take the wild road west,

And I have to travel east.

Between the fog,

Your face is blurry,

Yet, I can see your hands calling out to me.

Wish I could jump and grab your silky fingers,

Wish I could hold you forever.

I scream with yearnful words,

I linger around the curb,

Hoping to find a way across.

But,

Between the haze,

Between the vagueness,

My words flow away with the river,

Not finding its way through the obscure mirror between us.

My search for a passage,

My boat for the sail,

Are as lost as my eyes,

A little more moist than usual,

A little more dark than normal.

I know,

My expedition east is out of spontaneity,

I know,

Your trip west is out of necessity.

Faith will always be alive,

Faith will keep us affixed across our spots,

Faith will remember,

Although,

Fate has a timer,

Fate has an expiration date.

East and West will always be opposites,

East and West will always be strangers,

East and West will always be parallel.

We have to part ways here,

We have to reach our destination,

We have to complete our journey.

Just as we walked away,

Into the unknown,

I saw a glimpse of your face,

And you saw mine.

In that brief moment,

In that indefinite glance,

I saw,

I saw.

And, between the seen and the unseen,

I called it love.
