My dearest,

Did I mention you about the other day

When I went to a book fair??

There I found a book

A beautiful interesting book

Which I had never seen at bookstores before

It seemed so rare..

But the book was quite expensive

Which my pocket couldn't afford

But I found it so interesting

That I bought it somehow

And kept on my shelf like a victory's reward

On the first day, I sat with dedication

Believing I'll read it soon and complete

Reading pages with interest..

But slowly I grew out of it

Did I break my own trust??

The second day I sat again

I tried to read a few more page

Yet again I couldn't

What was it that changed

The book was the same

So was I

But I liked the book by the cover

Not by author's work and name

Then I knew what the book was about

And I got over it

Maybe I never would have been tempted to have it

If I had already got that exposure

And now it stays abandoned

Between some of my books on the shelf

Forgotten feeble forlorn

And I wonder

Is it the same way love works??

Love at first sight??

Tempted to have someone

Without knowing them

By Its Cover

By the look of them

And desiring to have them

Even if they were out of your league

Like the beautiful expensive book

But what if you didn't like them

What if you get over??

Is love, too, just a book

Something we desire without knowing?

Until we open its pages,

And find it’s not what we were hoping?
