But Tears I Cannot Shed

By Aakarsh Kujur

Be it sadness, be it scares,

I cannot be touched by tears.

Skin I tear, hair I shed,

All it sheds but not my tears.

Ripping my soul, laying it bare,

All it lies to touch and tear.

Where you are? Holding your breath,

All it sheds but not my tears.

Rip my clothes, lay me bare,

See me with utmost care.

All those scars for you to touch,

All it sheds but not my tears.

There my eyes, laid bare,

For you to consume and compare.

Your crimson face, my last to see,

All it sheds but not my tears.
