Burning Arms

Updated: Feb 12

By Damien Basumatary

I can't deny,

the way it feels

I shouldn't lie,

it gives me chills

As I lay by the bedside

Hoping...

I consume the night

To and fro,

dusk till dawn

What fever have I worn?

Each and every other day

What more can I say?

Teary eyes and wide awake

Emotions...

I can't seem to shake

Oh my dear, hear me out

I'm not used to drought

But if you may light up the day

Make my time green again

Rid me of my needless strain

As I am whole,

when you're in my burning arms-

a little warmth in my soul.
