Burden of Regrets

I would rather lose you than use you,

For the regret of hurting, you will haunt my dreams,

turning them into nightmares.

Pages of my diary would bleed,

from these ranting feelings.

I can’t bear the guilt of stabbing you in the back;

I’d rather be stabbed myself.

I’ll die---or maybe my wounds may heal with time,

But I could never sleep,

knowing my hand are stained with your blood.

I’d rather be pushed off a cliff than push you,

no desire to wake up under the burden of regrets,

having stolen dreams from someone’s trust.

I’d rather suffer a broken heart

than break your trust.

So, spare your tears that could drench your pillow.

You hear me, don’t you?

I’d rather lose you than to use you.
