Broken Promises

When you said I was the only one

I closed my eyes and thought I won

I fell for you so hard and I am unable

to explain myself the reason

You said you'd never hurt me

I guess I was just living in an illusion

Lies were covered with roses and

intentions with pretty dates

How I failed to recognize that my trust

was already burning in flames

You stepped on my soul and broke my

heart into pieces

You didn't even hesitate and made me

think that I deserved it

I was drowning in you so easily and it took

me years to be back in my senses

Little did I know

those were just broken promises.
