Broken Butterfly

They say it’s made up

All in my head

Controlled

Psychological

But they don’t feel the pain

Only see what’s obvious

Not within, doing anything

Like lying in bed

It’s not made up

It’s more real than ever

But nobody will believe

Even though the proof is seen

They don’t understand

Never feel the struggle like me

I can’t sleep

I can’t eat

Only happy in my dreams

I’m longing for something I can’t even see

It’s not easy

I’m trying my best

Because the battle is real

The war is me

What is my obsession?

Leaving a first impression?

Based upon looks, not who’s really me

Deep down

At the core of my soul

No longer whole

Ripping myself apart to be someone I’ll never know

When will I learn my lesson?

Bits and pieces

Broken parts of me

Parts nobody can see

Until my insides show

Displaying only bones

My thoughts

My feelings

Nowhere to go

Using weaknesses and mistakes to fill the hole

Do I try to shrink myself to be small?

To feel like I belong?`

Never realize until I’m too far gone

Beauty isn’t just on the outside.

Under the surface, deep down within, it lays.

They tell us how we should look, but

They can’t see what’s inside.

Everyone has their own feelings, but we should realize that

Reflections don’t define us.

Forget how they see you because only you have to

Love who you are.

You are beautiful.
