Break The Brakes

By Samarth Bhatkar

This place is too crowded,

Every second we're surrounded.

We can't seem to resist the noise,

The lights that blind leave no choice.

Can we drown together?

Live underwater forever?

I have been under scrutiny,

You've been hurt brutally.

Silence is all you crave,

Calamities is all I gave.

Are you gonna live with this pain?

Or burn everything in flames?

Peace was all you wanted,

But, my life left you haunted.

You dreamed for us to live in secrecy,

Little did you know, I can't marry harmony.

Are you gonna fight till it's surpassed?

Be the first to leave or the last to last?

You kept things private,

And said you were afraid of riots.

We'll live like summers,

And stay away from harsh winters.

Didn't you realize this when you were free?

The rain is always gonna pour if you're with me.

I lived in fear of losing,

I kept lines blurry and confusing.

Sometimes, giving up is the brave thing to do,

The only time you were brave, in my view.

How can I ask you to hang on?

How can dusk ever meet dawn?

Life in your years lived matter the most,

Our tryst made you experience ghosts.

I hope I could give you the potion of purity,

And bathe in an ocean that kills my insecurity.

Would everything be fine after that?

Will you be able to handle and win a combat?

Nothing stays the same,

And I can't blame your name.

Maybe we were never meant to be,

Stop, Don't say a thing because you've already lost me.

Can we give this one last shot?

Maybe we could untie this knot?

I said, "I wish you could have changed with time",

You said, "It's indifferent because you're midnight and I'm sunshine".
