The autumn winds tried it too
For it couldn’t shake and tilt it loose
I made it with every thorn I picked
From the gardens where scorching sun would hit.
Weaving, mending and fixing through
I hatched my eggs while feeding through
where my birdies learnt to take their flights
now you want that nest, out of sight?
Break all the promises if you must
the false stories that painted the pictures red
let every hope I had, vanish through
but break not my nest pleading you.
The dreams of comfort didn’t excite me
It was pouring rains that worried me
Not fancy did I make it though
Still, my nest, my shelter and my pride too.
