BORROWED SMILE

I borrowed smile from everyone,

as i had none.

Children played in the park the whole day

and i watched with dismay,

because my body wouldn't support in any way.

I smiled back at each one of them but no one came to sit with me.

So, i borrowed their smile to ease my pain and

turn my despair into glee.

On the lonely road one day,

when my destiny was to be all alone .

I didn't want sympathy, empathy or kind words at all.

All i wanted was to smile but i had no reason to rejoice.

I borrowed smile from passerby to show the world i am doing fine.

When my days are empty and dry.

I listened to the stories of other's life and the happiness that they were destined.

Wow! what an achievement i would think and borrow their smile to hide my sadness within.

But for how long can i borrow smiles?

I have to create it on my own.

Let me try, let me run,

let me work , let me find.

May be it hidden somewhere and i have missed to see it.

May be its round the corner waiting for me to meet.

I searched and searched , while i connected to thee.

very slowly the stars started to appear .

Very slowly the waves of a whispering ocean

started striking my feet.

very slowly the moon shined in the sky.

very slowly smile came on my face from the darkness of my mind.

Borrowed smile is a protector,

it melts like an ice and breaks like a glass.

Borrowed smile looks mighty but is hollow within.
