Blood Unseen

Caress of a gaze

Skim of a word

Elicit a warmth

Dormant yet brewing

A privilege bestowed

Cradled by softness

Woven with iron

The feather -laced haven

Darkness lingers

At the doors

Too strong to be held

By the sweet curses

A hunger stifled

Rises again

When left at mercy

Of loathsome thoughts

The insatiable creature

Reined by fear

Weeps into the chasm

Of unsaid words

Pulsating bruises

Adorn her skin

As her muffled voice

Sings of her ache

The vice that binds

Shields the truth

The blood unseen

Under the veil of a bond

I stand at the cage

Which contains her

Staring at the creature

Of my agony

For her pain is mine

The one I hide

Bruises I paint over

With hope I carved

Yet again

I leave

Turning my back

With dulled senses

The monster weeps

Her form crumbling

As she claws at the cage

Of gold and ruby
