Blames And Excuses

"You are a girl, a woman, a wife and a daughter,

You should be careful as you'll be under slaughter."

"It's your fault", they say

Of course, to our dismay!

"Men will be men, what's the big deal?"

Our safety and honour is the real deal!

"He was under stress, you're being dramatic"

Oh right, us women are just problematic!

"He was just having fun", they justify

Sure, for 'fun' rules don't apply.

"Men will be men", it's just an excuse

Pathetic! At least don't justify the abuse.

"What was she wearing? She was asking for it."

Oh, so her outfit gave him the permit?

Funny, it's always a women's fault

And never a man's, by default.

Always the victim bears the blame

"He's a good guy", they always claim.

Sure, a 'good guy' with dirty intention,

And a good heart grants him the exemption.

"Yeah, he didn't mean to do it", they insist

Of course, that erases the impact off the list.

He always finds an easy escape 

Society brands it as her mistake.

She takes the fall, she bears the shame,

Always the target of this blame game.

Everyone will forget it at the end,

Will justice ever find it's trend?
