BIRTH OF THE ONE

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

By Manikya Sanghi

Even when despair falls over,

When hope seems to be lost,

When the stars seem darkened

And hearts be in frost.

It is so,

Then a lamp is brightened,

Making fall every foe,

Heavy hearts it lightens.

Yet knowing all previous occurring,

Having experienced life’s mutiny,

Those who finally hold this light in their hands,

Feel joyous everlastingly.

The moment catches up,

That forget we do of all worry,

And all that we see in front of us,

Is its shining glimmer of happiness,

A smile of innocence,

An action of ignorance.

Such is the significance of the joy,

You bring to everyone upon your birth,

On this glorious Earth,

That songs be sung In its praise,

Those which say-

Happy Birthday to you…

Happy Birthday to you…

Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday…

Happy Birthday to you…

This poem makes to express the power of happiness experienced at a baby’s birth. That even if it be the darkest hours of one’s life, or any kind of despair be roaming in a person’s heart, a baby’s birth is able to bring forth immeasurable joy and happiness. It can be compared to a distant light that becomes visible to a person stuck in a dangerous hailstorm in the night. Even though it is small, and quite distant yet it’s mere sight can put hope even in the most hopeless of situations, and inspire someone to trudge forward.

The family to whom the child is born to does not know what the child may become in the future, or what path life may put him at. Yet, that moment is so everlastingly joyous, that all these thoughts are not able to tread past this wall of positivity. Such is the power of a baby’s birth. That every year on the day of birth we remember and make the child remember by means of joyous celebrations how important is his presence in this world, even if the child may due to circumstances start considering otherwise.

It is in this way that the child’s loved ones, bless their child & aspire to give back, the same joy and happiness that he or she gave to them.

I, Manikya Sanghi dedicate this poem written by me to you and to your most valuable presence in my life.
