Beyond The Veil

How does a man fail to see what truly matters?

How does he cease to feel the suffering of others?

To see beyond this veil, this mist, is truly

a tiresome task.

Your eyes are opened for you,

and you see the world born anew.

But then, you start chasing glitter, hoping to increase

your own shine—

but that is a mistake.

You go blind again, forgetting what truly matters.

The passion felt while creating art never fully emerges in the finished work.

No matter how hard one tries, they will never truly convey

their feelings or beliefs on paper or canvas.

People admire art like lifeless dolls, never seeing the meaning within.

How could they know how deeply music stirs your soul,

or what it means to create and appreciate art?

Will they ever feel the magic of poetry, understand literature,

or lose themselves in Shakespeare?

Or will they remain trapped in their bleak worlds,

consumed by desire?

Wake up!

And help me wake up too,

for I keep losing sight of the real magic in this world.

I keep getting consumed by the things most people are bound to.

But I don’t want to lose my connection to this world;

I don’t want to stop feeling the magic.

Even I deserve to feel like the child I am.

Yet this world binds me to memories I long to forget,

makes me yearn for a home, not just a house,

and keeps me blind to the magic.
