Beyond The Cosmos

There is a star exploding a million galaxies away

And I feel my heart breaking in a billion different ways

Here on this blue planet, doomed to apocalypse, in a country at war with itself,

Is a city chained to its concrete, with struggling souls screaming for help.

I am living a pretense, the world likes to call life

Where I run behind fairy tales and through fairy woes I strive.

I look around myself, the bed, the study, even the books seem wrong

But I have to be at the top of the food chain, I have to be strong.

Everything I go through, is to make my position firm,

But in which world? What time? What reason? I can't discern.

And yet if the society games are not played to the letter

You will find yourself eluded from that life termed as better

As a star explodes a million galaxies away

I question my entire being, right down to the core, today.

Is that it? The society bubble I am born in, is that my destiny?

My charmed life, lauded credentials, perfect package, is that the harmony?

And like Elsa, I feel a strange pull across the Milky Way

A siren in silence, an enigma, calling me away

Is it a river, frozen in the time vacuum? Or the burning ray of another faraway sun?

I know not and I am scared to let go of the bubbled world, no matter how my heart yearns.

I feel the answer to my agitations, wiggling in the pit of my stomach,

My heart tells me "It is here, within you, just surrender.

The path to the cosmos isn't found above the sky,

It's right within you, you eternal being, that the river and the ray lie.

See yourself, not through the society glasses or even your own, it’s worthless to try.

See yourself as the cosmos sees you, pure, untouched, see yourself through HIS eyes.

Grasp that understanding that has eluded you all your life,

Go within, search inside."

And tears brim up, I am full of something I can't yet describe,

It's within, within me that my answers lie.
