Beyond Labels

By Airy Magic

What will you do?

The day you realise

You weren’t the one

Making choices you called your own?

The wild thoughts you silenced to belong,

Just to fit into someone’s good books.

The emotions you buried —

Because apparently,

You're supposed to always wear a positive outlook.

The self-talk you avoided,

Afraid it’d show what you tried to overlook.

Who are you really?

Are you your thoughts?

Or the body and mind

Knotted up over time?

What use is liberation after death

If you could never live freely

Now — in this very breath?

Sit with yourself. Lend an ear.

Undress your emotions.

Open your heart —

And feel the depth of the ocean.

Throw away labels, tags, identities,

Every classification...

Let the heart lead —

The mind certainly won’t mind.

Everything you avoided,

Everything you neglected —

Just needs your confrontation…

And your love, not your hate.

Liberation is now,

When we stop hiding, escaping.

It’s a state of being —

All else, mere lies

That kept you from feeling.
