Betrayal

And I'm always careful with

how much I give my friends

Fractions and portions of myself,

for I may not see them again

But with you,

I thought I knew

We would stay in touch

for a longer time.

So perhaps that's why

I gave you most of mine.

Until you spun your lies,

not willing to compromise.

And cut me

with your jealousy.

So in search of the truth,

I had to cut us both.

-when did your ego take you so low?
