Beneath The Facade

“She has no soul,

An animal is more humane than she ever was,”

The onlookers never fail to pass on compliment.

Oh, how wrong they are!

She has a soul - a lost soul,

Desperately seeking solace 

Amidst the chaos.

She has a soul - a trapped soul,

Desperately seeking peace 

Amidst the whirlwind of emotions.

She has a soul – a hopeless soul,

Desperately seeking a hand 

To help her out of the abyss.

She has a soul – a deceived soul,

Desperately seeking a pillar 

To hold her from falling apart.

She has a soul – a dejected soul,

Desperately seeking hope 

To stop herself from withering away.

She never was an animal;

She has a soul, 

Too scared to be a human again,

Because she knows -

Being a human would mean 

The demise of her soul!
