Being Yourself

By Valli.M

Once upon a time, in a room full of interesting objects, there was a chatty Radio and a silly Sock Puppet. The Radio loved playing music, and the Sock Puppet loved making people laugh.

One day, the Radio and the Sock Puppet overheard a chat between a shy Lamp and a jumpy Rubber Ball.

Shy Lamp: "I'm afraid people won't like my light. It's a bit too bright!"

Jumpy Rubber Ball: "Who cares! Light up the room, my glowy friend. Shine like a star!"

The Radio cranked up the volume, and the Sock Puppet grabbed a microphone. They decided to tell a story about being yourself and having a blast doing it.

The story happened in a town where everything had a role given by the town's rules. The bouncy Pillow was tired of always being soft; it wanted to be a trampoline. The strict Vase said, "What will others say?"

Ignoring the Vase, the Pillow transformed into a trampoline, and everyone started jumping and laughing. The town's things couldn't help but join the fun.

The bouncy Pillow, now joined by a funky Disco Ball and a groovy Record Player, started a town-wide dance party. Even the strict Vase couldn't resist tapping its base.

The Sock Puppet, wearing a party hat, and the Radio playing upbeat tunes, added a burst of fun to the illustrations.

The story's lesson was clear: Do what makes you happy, and others will join the fun. The things in the room loved the story and decided to throw a regular party of being themselves. The shy Lamp started to glow brighter, and the jumpy Rubber Ball bounced with joy.

The book closed with a disco beat, and the Sock Puppet took a bow, knowing it had made a hilarious and fun picture of being yourself. And so, in the room with lots of things, each thing found joy in being just how they were, dancing to the rhythm of their own uniqueness. The end.
