Behind The Bars

By Khushi Vanjani

Yes, am inside,

Where no one wants to stand.

The world I adore is Far away.

Holding my sentiments,

Choking inside drop by drop,

Every attempt of mine flops.

My throat pains but here everyone

Seems to be deaf,

See how I have become an elf.

I have been tied to a place,

Where I live with grace.

Am flayed by own crowd,

Of which I will never be proud.

Shamelessly, they gashed my wings,

Cause am not the king.

Yes, that’s why am behind the bars.

A Queen without prerogative.
