Begging
By Nabiha Aijaz
In silence of dark I cut off each lump covering my bones,
Wearing my eyes unto throat,
Tongue unto eyes,
Lips unto palms,
You unto my heart,
When daughters are not daughter enough, they become a vomited reflection of their fathers, wretched and heinous,
When daughters are not daughter enough, they hold a knife to your chest and slit you up raw, begging you to make them feel daughter enough.
