Beautifully Shattering

By Aastha Gupta

Words cut deeper than you’d imagine.

They slice like an obsidian blade, tearing through delicate skin into a shape from

which raw, hot blood never stops pouring.

It is haunting to even imagine.

It stings. it burns—but not as beautifully as a gem.

A gem; a diamond.

Beautiful on the outside but capable of tearing apart the narrowest tissues and cells.

That is exactly what human actions do.

Actions.

The mere misplacement of thought can lead to the worst of crimes and the best of defences.

Actions.

The prequel to birth, breakups, death, love, betrayal, and dreams.
