BARRIERS AND BEAUTY

(Poem)

Rough stones on the slope of mountain

Stood erect on the way, raising barriers,

Tried to stop the flow of the frail rivulet

That was merrily descending from hills.

With powerful claws, ready to hurt,

Mighty hills stood on her way to stop,

They wanted to chain her dancing legs

With their lofty ego and jealous pride.

The sun, the sky, the amazed forest

Prayed silently holding their breath,

Worried about their cute loving girl,

Fearing that she would succumb soon.

The stream however surprised them all,

Undaunted, she never stopped her course,

Passed by the rocks, falling as fountains

She made barriers add to her beauty.

Barriers keep on coming in everyone’s life,

Many either give away or succumb to them,

But some use them to solve their problem ,

Just in the same way the small stream does.

.

History also tell us stories like that,

Mighty people stretch arms to the weak,

To keep them under their feet by might,

Still a few change the barriers into beauty.
