Back There

Sometimes I wonder

If I wanna go back

To holding my parents hands

And down memory lane

To the first ever house we lived in

To the first ever memories we made

To sincere laughs and fleeting sadness

To sweaty summers and lemonade

And being tucked in and watched over

Not a care in the world

If only the earth stopped spinning

And the story never unfurled

Sometimes I wonder

If I wanna go back to holding my parents hands

And down memory lane

To cherish the child that hides within

That I might never see again
