Away From Home

I'll change cities

And i'll change flights

I'll change the way i think

And i'll change lives

But i won't change who i am

and who i wanted to be

I won't change the little kid in me.

I'll leave my house

But i'll take my home

I'll take the hairstyles from my mother's comb

Her recipes and the old photos from her phone

I'll carry my father's teasing with me

All his pranks that i should have known

His laugh in my heart and his smile on my face

I'll take them with me

i'll keep them safe Maybe in my wallet or in my phone case

Because,

Who am I, If not my father's heart?

Who am I if not my mother's pride?

Who am I if not a product of my choices?

Who am I, if not a masterpiece of my inner voices?

Who even am I if not who I have always been?

Everything will change

And so will i

But i'll be more myself

And much more alive
