Autumn Leaves

Today Divyanka was enjoying her friends’ Birthday party in a lovely restaurant in the city. Chatting with her friends , she went down memory lane and started telling about her youth. She fell in love with a boy and told her family frankly about it. Whenever she wanted to meet the boy, she always informed her father and went. Both her parents were very conservative, though her mother worked in a Govt. Organization out of town. She also told about an incident of her friends' love marriage organised by her mother only. But at her time, she didn’t agree to approve the other caste boy at any cost. Divyanka was sent to her mama’s home and restricted to meet the boy. The father of the boy tried to get them united but in vain. The threat to kill the boy was enough to end the love story.She still has bitter feelings for her mother, who still continues restrictions on her.

Divyanka is separated from her husband and stays with her mother at her paternal home, successfully running an NGO with her teenage son. She said with a sigh at the bruschetta bite, ‘you will never be happy after marriage’ was the sentence of her boyfriend which turned out to be true as she had a bad marital experience. Her autumn in life is waiting for spring to come….
