At Night

By Rhea

At night I skip between lovers

From the one with the puppy dog eyes,

To the one who isn’t afraid to bite my ear

The one who laughs at the silliest of things

And the one who broods for a living

The freckled simpleton who brews a pot of tea

To the charmer who discusses political views with me

The one who puts on a frustrating front,

But secretly smiles behind my back

And the one with the ring in his pocket,

The one I might never get

We torment each other and form everlasting bonds

We’re lovers and it couldn’t get any better.
