As I Watch The Setting Sun

As I watch the setting sun, the amalgamation of a varied set of hues in the sky reminds me of my

kaleidoscope of emotions -

Emotions that are not unilinear but diverse,

Diverse yet at a point circular in nature;

And I realise what goes around, really comes around,

Further making my faith stronger on my belief in karma.

As I watch the setting sun, the soothing embrace of the breeze sends a chill down my spine,

As I think of the wrongs done to me, the unwanted hardships, the pain, the adversities;

But, there is also the curtain of warm sunshine -

The warmth calming me down,

And the curtain hiding the moments of pain,

The pain fading into the golden hour,

And giving me a clear vision of the beauties of life –

Allowing me to deep dive into the moments of happiness, where there is sheer joy and cheer.

As I watch the setting sun, I also see birds flying their way back to their nests;

And I sense my profound love for my home - both within and outside;

Just like few birds may sometime forget the route, I too might lose track with worldly commitments,

But oh, the melody of home!

No matter what, the bird of heart yearns for and seeks home,

And with the symphony, it finds a way back -

A way back to further re-energise and be back on track;

The flock of birds carry whispers of hope that sooner or later they will return home,

They will meet themselves, and their heart will heave sighs of contentment.

As I watch the setting sun, I see the culmination of darkness and of light -

The impending darkness makes me fearful and anxious, but I also know that there will be the moonlight -

The moon sending me angels of strength to trace and fight the roadblocks –

Ah, the strength in the softness, the mesmerising charm of life - the goodness in badness, the badness in

goodness.

As I watch the setting sun, it paints a picture for me to say,

That endings are beautiful,

That endings signify hope for new beginnings,

That endings do not mean ‘I quit’,

Rather endings symbolise that for every night of darkness, there certainly is a morning of light,

For अंतः अस्ति प्रारंभः (Antah Asti Prarambhah) - the ending is the very beginning.
