My mehendi is still fragrant,

My hair has sindoor at the parting, I am adorned with jewellery,

My dress still screams marriage.

I am waiting for you to come in, I have hopes that I have tucked in, I am a little scared and excited Just like the first day at school.

I have never looked better in my life, I probably never will,

I have mixed my fast with emotions, Counting seconds as I breathe.

My eyes are fixed on the door, My stomach is churning,

I fell in love in an arranged marriage, I am waiting for you to come.

I could not ask you all the questions, I have a hundred questions and more, I have seen you through my chunni, I am waiting to take that off.

The lines of custom and society, Are getting blurred now,

I am yours and you are mine, For a lifetime and more.
