Appearance and Perception

Updated: Jul 16, 2025

When I first walked into the college drama practice room, I couldn't help but laugh at the rehearsal. However, when I watched the same performance on the auditorium stage, it had a profoundly different impact. I was silenced, mesmerized, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire drama.

The reason for this stark contrast lay in their appearance. The transformation from a casual rehearsal space to a formal stage setting, complete with costumes, lighting, and makeup, added depth and nuance to the performance. This change in appearance somehow bridged the gap between the performers and the audience, allowing me to connect with the drama on a deeper level.
