Another Year

It’s almost another year

And you look at ridges of your palms.

Questioning all your achievements

Asking yourself if you’ve grown.

It’s almost another year

You wonder if you found love.

If heartbreaks felt so painful before

Will next year your own self be enough.

It’s almost another year

Questions linger completely unanswered.

Yet that’s the beauty of it

You have the chance to move forward.

It’s almost another year

You might look back in disappointment.

But in my eyes I see the honest truth

That you made so much of a difference

It’s almost another year

In the grand scheme of the universe.

Where our world has shifted yet again

You stand tall in all the good and cursed.

It’s another year now

Your smile still envelopes your lovers eyes.

Your dreams still inspire your peers

Your existence still paints the skies.

It’s another year

You were beautiful yesterday.

As you will be glorious in a while

No matter what year it might be,

You’ll always be the speck of change, of growth, of one in a gazillion in the history of time.
