Anatomy Of A Lover's Heart

By Anushka Dey

My heart is a lovelorn teenager

A flower of eternal spring in it’s prime

A mellifluous ballad , a dulcet rhyme

As lively and innocent as a dainty fawn

As  youthful and lucid as dew drops of dawn

My heart is a restless nomad

A wanderer lost in labyrinth of life

getting drunk on daydreams to feel alive

A vagabond that cares little about other’s opinion

A terrible fool drowning in swamp of emotions

My heart is a hopeless romantic

A believer of fairy-tales with happy ending

A city of utopian fantasy and infinite longing

Home of fantastic bad ideas and butterflies

Where my greatest strength and weakness lies

My heart is an ancient soul

A monument of unrequited love and silent cries

Decorated with scars and  haunted by ghost of sighs

A broken instrument, pumping regrets each breath

A  temptress singing the song of blissful death
