An Untimely Goodbye
By Vibha GR
There I lay writhing in pain in a pool of blood
On these stone cold tiles, these closing walls
Where I toiled donning this prideful white now marred in red I lay.
Service I breathed in and out,
Service I went night and day.
Within these unforgiving walls, I toiled in blood, sweat and tears, only to drown in them.
As I draw near to my end,
Meeting the inevitable fate you failed to understand
Posed to venge , knife in hand.
You treated me like a god when the fate of your kin was in my hand,
Your insensitivity on disease, now I leave my kin, sorrow bequeathed in sand.
My eyes draw to a close, fluttering to the threshold like a moth to a flame,
As I watch my only source of hope fighting to rush to me,my fate in godly hands.
A minute too late , I hope not.
This untimely goodbye I want to bid not.
