An Open Wound

Make a cup of coffee for myself

Sit by the window pane

With every sip I curse your name

You hit me like a hurricane

And I would

So happily

Oh, I would

Walk into this storm

Get hurt and ask for more

Cause it’s a choice

And I choose to bleed like an open wound

Want to bleed out under the moon

It’s the same moon you are underneath, with her

It’s the same moon you pray to when you miss her

Now I’m making my bed

And I still think of you

How do I get you out of my head

I haven’t got a clue

And you don’t

Oh no, not at all

You don’t

Care about my well being

But I search for reasons to believe in

I can’t blame you

For the choices I’m about to make

I just want to see you

See you happy for my own sake

It’s a choice

And I choose to bleed like an open wound

Want to bleed out under the moon

The same moon who has your nights witnessed

The same moon who will have felt my last breath
