An Old School Love

By Vaishnavi Mandle

The world thinks I hate love,

But can someone tell me how can one hate love?

Okay, you are getting it wrong,

It's like I am an old school soul; I don't even like today's songs.

I think we have messed up love's definition,

As it doesn't consist of breakups and hookups and situationships; it's a God's pure creation.

I show that love's not my cup of tea,

But the reality is: today's love is not me.

I crave for something that is rare in today's generation,

So I always prefer sitting alone on my terrace and doing my narration.

There's joy in letting the world think of me as they want,

So I never bother them, and didn't let them know about the love I want.

However, I believe that lately I will find someone,

Someone just like me, a crazy old school soul,

With whom life would be fun.

Someone who will get me flowers,

Someone who will describe me as his power,

And then the life will be all ours!

But coming back to the reality, it does not seem that simple;

But as a poet, imagining something dreamy and manifesting it to become reality is my mingle!
