An Ode to my child

Someday it would all be gone so fast,

All that we have right now with us,

And when nothing except us would be left,

I will hold you safe in my heart;

Even if for a moment it would stay,

My reflection will seek you wherever you'd be,

I'll stand between you & all darkness,

I am the wind that will take you away;

Whoever has stopped you from stretching a smile?

Will face my demons before touching you,

What stops you from walking with your chin up?

I'll be the light that will bring back your pride;

What do you seek from the crowds that you see?

They don't belong to your world and you,

What makes you think you need to shed tears?

I'll be the night that will bring life to your dreams.
