An Ode to A Loved One

It’s fascinating how far we had come,

Mundane days that were made golden,

My pale yellow eyes that beckoned,

For your warm smile, of hope, a beacon,

Your hands,

That were once clasped in mine,

That braved through hardships,

Yet, tender and soft like tallow,

An endearing touch,

That made me long for a time loop,

In which I was fearless with you,

You, a fighter who wouldn’t give up,

Or bow down to time or maladies,

Through dawn’s early toil,

Or twilight’s weary way,

Even in sickness, you didn’t sway,

All the needles in your hand, the pain prevailed,

None of it could taint,

That radiant smile,

And the profound love,

With which you adored all,

But you let go, and now I roam,

Seeking the echoes of your voice,

Even in the darkest corners of my heart,

I can’t help,

But my love knows no boundaries
