An Alpine Lake

Oh paradise! Thy beauty, intriguing!

I offer thee the token of my being.

All miseries, thou momentarily seize

I found thou, while the world envies.


I stroll through the meadows

And rest in thy shadows

Swarmed by sweet melodies

I found thou, while the world envies.


I climb thy forests

Breath stuck in my lungs,

No woes, I've no worries.

I found thou, while the world envies.



I hop from rock to rock

How long before the secrets unlock !

Thine the safe & mine countless queries

I found thou, while the world envies.


Thy glaciers, mighty, crystal laden!

I slip, my shoe torn and feet frozen

Blood dripping, I embrace all my injuries

I found thou, while the world envies.


Coz the first view of thy turquoise lake

is worth more than my being at stake

As the wretched meets heaven after his decease,

I found thou, while the world envies.
