AN AFGHANISTAN WOMAN

An Afghanistan woman

Stripped from her rights

Stripped from her dignity

Stripped from everything

So where is humanity?

Stoned by cruelty

A slave to inferiority

A life so dark with no escape

Or authority

Clothed from head to toe

Unable to walk alone

No voice to speak

All she does is weep

Whilst her heart bleeds inwardly

And her soul burns in distress

No future to look forward

All she expects is less

Her hope deteriorates

All her desires locked in metal gates

Somewhere in the world,

There lives a girl, a women

With a yearn for freedom

A yearn for voice

A yearn for dignity

A yearn for humanity

That is who she is

An Afghanistan woman.
