Amidst The Nowhere
By Anweshika Mehta
Amidst the nowhere, in the stillness of nothing there i lie.
My hands cold and heart ceased to beat.
Found myself in adrift lost in dark,
surreal and stark.
Amidst the bereaved, my eyes found the dear once.
In my lifeless shell their sorrow swells.
A surge does rise,
eliciting the rush of emotions in silence disguised.
Amidst the mournful, sea there she stands.
Eyes once radiant now reflects anguish.
The weight of my absence rest upon her soul,
in the silence of grief our reminiscences roll
Amidst the time, the unspoken words reside.
Vanishing into ether, lost without a cry.
I saw her clutching a fading photograph,
A tangible relic of our shared epitaph.
Yet amidst the sorrow, a flicker of light
a memory of love burning bright.
Laying flowers upon my resting place,
a dedicate dance of grief and grace.
In tears streaming down a silent promise made,
in the depth of the sorrow our love will not fade.
In the hush of void life refrain,
Amidst the nowhere,
i remain.
