Like a raging bull she charged,
Hair all open,
screaming her way through,
Cutting across the masses,
Drawing their attention
And leaving them behind tongue-tied.
Slowly they close in behind her,
Like parted waters coming together.
She is unaware of what she has left behind,
Only that which is ahead of herHer sole aim,
her life’s objective,
All else around her a blur,
Such a sight will never recur.
The people part,
She is driven
She cannot be stopped
The people chant
“ Its all that she wants
And all she wants.”
She reaches out,
Arms outstretched,
Grappling for a grip on what is hers.
Instead she trips and she falls,
Grovelling on all fours,
She raises her eyes
To what should’ve been hers.
Hurt and anguish,
Sparkle on her lashes.
The people taunt-
“You will never get what you want,
The closer you get
The further you will fall.”
