Alleen in die Citroën

Die reën raas langs my op die straat.

My hart neurie saggies saam met die storm.

Ek wens ek kon die gesprek tussen hulle verstaan

terwyl die druppels plasse op die stoep vorm.

Dalk sal die wind my ook wegdra van alles af

as ek die wolke mooi genoeg kan vra.

Dan kan ek my oë vir ‘n oomblik sluit sonder

dat my binnestemmetjie my verder sal pla.

Ek sit in die kar en blaas wasem

teen die Citroën se ruite.

Alles rondom my is papnat gereën,

maar ek weet dis veiliger daarbuite.
