All I Was

Updated: Jul 14, 2025

By Mansi Singh

I was like the rain yet never the drizzle they liked but the rainstorm they hate,

I was like the morning sun yet the one in the middle of the June but never like that of the chilly winter date.

I was like a flower yet not the rose they adored but the Jasmine they never appreciate.

I was like the moon yet the crescent they don't see, but never the full for which they always awaits.

I was like a butterfly yet not the beauty they liked but the one they were afraid.

I was like the wind yet never the breeze they accept but the hurricane they escape.

I was like the rainbow full of colours yet the dull one but never as bright as for them to celebrate.

I was everything yet I was nothing because they couldn't differentiate but Maybe I was wrong!

because I was always worthless never something they could relate.

And perhaps I did everything I could, to please them, I was never great.
