The one who led,
with a great in his name.
Never another,
as he inspired all.
From the west to east,
where no one could think of.
As he conquered the lions,
as the lion himself.
He led his men,
from miserable to hope.
No water was drank,
till his men could drink.
From the untamable stallion,
to the pride lions of Persia.
One he turned toward the sun,
another he made to kneel.
He died with doctors beside him,
to show death is inevitable.
He died with his hands in the wind,
to tell even a great could die.
He died with his gold scattered throughout,
to show even he died an ordinary.
Alexander he is,
the great he was.
He never led after his death,
yet the future followed his way.
