The afternoon breeze sings

Of a lazy rhythm.

The chairs in the courtyard,

A silent witness to a mind, marred.

I revel in solitary bliss.

All is calm, all is still,

All queries, all worries, nil.

The Beloved has put the little ones to sleep,

They now snore deep.

I can now rest,

Thinking of how one is blest.

To have and to hold,

Entrusted with souls to mould.

The book I hold,

Carry the voices of many bold.

I am them. It is I.

Living the lives of many a woman,

Many a mind, with ideas swollen.

Making the woman in me,

Arch her head and be.

Yet calm as the waves,

But roads to a better future, one paves.

I flow, I fill,

Within this circle, yet still.
