AFTERGLOW

Drifting through life like a speck of light,

I fade away into the realm of lies.

Disembodied voices clutch my hand

as I escape into the forgotten land.

The world danced in shades of greige

while I twirled around like a bird, unphased.

Standing afar from the troubled lands,

I gaze upon the starry band.

Tears well up inside my eyes

as I break all my unanswered ties.

Dreamy spectacles behold my arrival

while I bolt across the cosmos, waiting to be unraveled.

What felt like dust making its way through sunbeams

now seems like a prayer asking to be foreseen.

Life seems altered, for a prophecy has changed.

The world spins around as a mirror ball, unchained.

Finally, the blemishes start to vanish;

all they desired was a grasp to relinquish.

The stormy clouds withered into the abyss,

leaving behind a trail of pristine and complete bliss.
