After Every War of Ridiculous Possesions and Vowes

By Tavisha

After every war of ridiculous possesions and vowes

I knock the door of the one who saved me in her womb

She smiles at me and pats her lap

In her innocent brown eyes i see the little girl ,building sand castles along

I bow to her i cry "mom i failed to inscribe your pride with diamonds and jewels"

"I failed at every strike i aimed"

Screaming so loud scaring away the little creatures around

But she spreads her arms welcoming this demon in her solace

Surrendering in her embrace

She runs her fingers through my hair every thread of my deed sheds

She stitches them back

Whispering I look so beautiful even without them

"But mom didn't they all entitle me with the name ugly hog"

Giggling she says " they all are just jealous of your darling soul"

Irony bites my back

She doesn't know her daughter's shameful acts

Crushing humans everyday beneath my feet to reside on the throne of power and fame

Never understanding the values she taught am I really her perfect lad?

creases on my face make her hum my lullaby her sweet voice's  mercy  attained

" everything is going to be okay"

She sings out aloud announcing how proud she is of the monster sleeping on her lap while it snores.
