Aflame

By Joshua

Glisten, blue fire

Eyes aflame

Crystal blue skies

Matches his gaze

And smile unto

A warm embrace

But serene serendipity

Once majestic fealty

A foreword to guilt

Sorrow and blame

Identity in tatters;

And a forgotten name

Eyes close, now marred

In extinguished flame

But measured mastication

Astringent delicacy

Shows a taste

That graces the lips

And whispers of past

Of what had been

Of bittersweet features

And feathered kiss

Shackles of sanity

Loosen imperceptibly

And sapphire seas roil

‘Fore impending storm

Rage, blue fire

Eyes aflame

Warmth once stolen

Now a wrathful blaze

Fate took her away

So the universe shall pay
